During a live stream with Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed the upcoming features.
What’s From Creator Stores?
“We’ve seen a lot of creators trying to set up shops as well, and one part of the content creator business model is that you create amazing content and can sell products, so obtaining creator shops is great,” Zuckerberg added. Creator Shops will be an addition to the company’s current shopping features, which enable companies to sell items.
Influencers Compensation for Marketing Goods
Zuckerberg also mentioned that the company is developing a tool that will enable Instagram influencers to be compensated for marketing goods.
Earn Your Profit through Affiliate Marketing
“Whatever the products they recommend, the Creators should gain a percentage of the profits of and that’s possible through affiliate marketing,” Mark said.
Branded Content Marketplace – Connecting Brand & Influencers
Instagram is now developing a “branded content marketplace” to coordinate influencers with sponsors.
According to Zuckerberg, such a tool could help up-and-coming talent earn money and build a similar “creator middle class.” However, for the time being, those sales are often made off-platform, making it impossible for less well-known celebrities to make profits. Including these resources in Instagram will make it easier to land deals.
Encouragement to Instagram Influencers
However, it will allow Instagram greater power over its creator community and encourage influencers to invest additional time on Instagram than on other sites.
Last month, Facebook announced that it would allow creators to receive ad revenue from videos called “Reels” as short as one minute in length, as well as extend its ‘Stars’ virtual currency, which users would use to tip their favorite content creators.
According to the paper, the latest technologies are still in the works, but they have the potential to significantly change the way influencers monetize their audience on the web.
